Niykee's personal highlights include being selected by a scout to join Snoop in the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, as well as writing songs, despite the turbulence over the last few years. Songwriting is an inspiration to new producers. Niykee listens constantly to beats and finds many songs that inspire her. After just five minutes that I know the beat's worth it. Then I can get an idea of a complete song in my brain and I start to write. If I am sitting at my front porch, playing guitar, lyrics will come out and can be written in fewer than thirty minutes. Niykee continues to develop her abilities as a poet and the lyricist. She notes how the trauma she endured through the years can be a source of unique motivation. It's difficult to escape memories that are painful from my youth, especially losing my younger sister. The memories end up getting incorporated in her music. My songs are inspired by my experiences and I see the bigger picture beneath all of it. That's one of the elements that is significant for me.
